Brake CalculatorThe Brake Calculator program performs the
basic computations of hydraulic braking systems.
This begins with the geometry of the brake pedal and the force applied
by the driver. Then the program calculates the forces which operate on the
balance bar and master cylinder(s). From
there the forces and pressures are transmitted through the brake lines to the
pistons on the calipers. There the clamping forces are applied to the wheels
and the braking force is transmitted to the tires.
The Brake Calculator allows you to design
a braking system as well as investigate the effects of changing portions of
the braking system. You can compute the change in braking distribution
resulting from a change in the brake balance bar or from changing a master
cylinder.
