Engine and Chassis Calculator

Quick Formulas handles several calculations used by engine and chassis builders

MPH from RPM, gear ratio and tire size                         Horsepower, torque and RPM

Engine displacement                                                    Compression ratio

 Deck height                                                                  BMEP

Piston speed and gas velocity                                      Carb size

 Primary header size

The Chassis calculator handles formulas relating to chassis set-up and vehicle dynamics:

MPH from RPM, tire size and gear ratio                      RPM split between gears

Cornering force as a function of time in a turn              Cornering force as a function of speed

Constant acceleration by speed                                  Constant acceleration by distance

Aerodynamic forces                                                   Aerodynamic horsepower

Roll rate - springs                                                       Roll rate - swaybar

Center of Gravity height                                              Corner weights

Distance conversion (miles, yards, feet, Kilometers, meters)

Advantages of the Calculator

Frankly, you could do all of these computations on a calculator.  The advantage of the program is that they remember all of the formulas and are quite accurate.  You can even switch from Standard to metric units.

The other advantage is that the Calculator programs keep all of these formulas handy.  The user, who may not use them every day, can call up the program and have complete access to all of the formulas, with an explanation of the proper units and definitions.
