WinGears 3.04
The
WinGears program now comes in two versions:
Regular
$195 - Full gearing analysis including an inventory of gears.
Advanced
$395
– Add acceleration capability and advanced analysis incorporating
torque-induced tire slip.
The Gear Calculator program computes and displays
information to assist in the gearing of automobiles.
Input consists of gear ratios (either by tooth count or ratio), rear end
ratio (either by tooth count or ratio), spur gears (if any), tire size (either
diameter or circumference), and RPM shift point. With this data the program computes and plots the
relationship between RPM and MPH as well as the RPM drop between gears.
The program also produces a standard gear chart of MPH vs. RPM.
This plot shows and displays the maximum MPH in each gear (at shift
point) as well as the RPM drop between gears.

Inventory
The use of an inventory including transmission gear ratios
as well as rear end ratios, spur gears, tire sizes and Engine RPM allows you to
quickly see what alternatives are available for any gear.
The above inventory shows alternative 4th gears for the gear
combination shown above.
This feature saves time in selecting gears.
You may want to lower 4th gear 200 rpm but you are restrained
by what gears are available. The
above inventory shows that a 35:36 will reduce the 3-4 split from 1133 rpm to
923 rpm and give a top speed of 170.20 mph rather than 175.07.
