Suspension
Geometry - Fixture feature
Many teams now measure their upright on some type of
fixture to accurately locate the ball joints and steering pickup relative to the
hub. The program now allows the user to use these measurements and then place
the upright or spindle on the car with any desired camber, toe, caster and
track. This permits more accurate measurement of the suspension. The program
will calculate the A-Arms necessary to accommodate a specific upright in the
desired attitude.
This new feature is very useful in promoting more accurate
measurement and analysis. The screen above shows the three views of the upright
and tire and demonstrates just how the assembly is placed on the car. The
graphic shows how the Offset of the wheel and the Spacers contribute to the
final suspension.
