Speed Plot
 

This Gear Plot relates RPM and MPH.  You can use the Cursor to move about the plot and examine the relationship between RPM and MPH.  The results are also shown on the Calculator Panel.

This program will also store, display and graph engine Torque and Horsepower curves.  You can enter the torque value for a given engine RPM and the program will calculate horsepower.  You can graph either torque or horsepower and compare different dyno runs.

If you add vehicle data such as weight and aerodynamic coefficients you can also compare straight line acceleration for various combinations of gears, engines and vehicles.  How does a 2600 lb V-6 accelerate compared to a 2800 lb V-8 combination?  How much time do you gain or lose by shifting gears one more time on a given straight?  How much elapsed time hurt if you increase vehicle drag?

You may also store files of gear ratio data, including comments like “could have used taller second”, and recall this data to compare with other files.  Files may be organized by track, series or engine type (V-8 vs. V-6).
